TIES Teachers focus on your needs, interests and motivation
Study at a school that places students at the centre of teaching and learning. All teachers at TIES hold a minimum of a Certificate IV in TESOL and a Bachelor's Degree.
TIES teachers are dynamic, creative and professional. They strive to provide the best possible class every single class. We focus on you the student, and deliver lessons that help you to improve as efficiently as possible. Our classes are fun and communicative (lots of talking), but at the same time focused and professional. We use music in the classroom, videos (TED talks), games and many activities.
If you want to study in a school that actually listens to you and responds by adapting the lessons, then TIES teachers are prepared to do this. All TIES teachers participate in ongoing Professional Development to maintain currency in teaching practices, and the Academic Director Kit Perry has even delivered talks at national English Language School Conferences (NEAS).

I believe that great education is a result of placing students at the centre of teaching and learning
My pedagogy always begins with the needs, interests and motivations of my students as a starting point from which I can build. I always aim to inspire my students to be independent, imaginative lifelong learners. My goal isn't simply to teach content and prepare students for an exam, but to engage them in developing the skills, knowledge and perspective necessary to be successful, whatever that may mean to each student.Qualifications

Teaching is one of my passions in life. Being able to provide someone with the skills and knowledge so they can be successful is an amazing feeling.
I have taught for over ten years, and I am very fortunate to say that teaching is my vocation. I teach most of the Beginner to Pre-Intermediate classes at TIES, which I find both challenging and extremely rewarding. It is incredible to watch a student begin with little English and over time develop into a proficient user of the language.
